The Republican People's Party [CHP] has applied to the Higher Election Board [YSK] for the cancellation of the Constitutional Amendments referendum results, which envisions bringing the Presidential Government System to Turkiye.

Mehmet Karadağ, Chairman of the Human Rights Society [IHC], made evaluation on the application of the CHP, stated that the current and mentality represented by the CHP is a matter of indifference to the election results.

IHC President Karadağ stated that everyone should respect the outcome of the polls and said that the CHP aims to cancel the election results and cause an environment of chaos in the society.

Karadağ stated that YSK is the ultimate to put dot about the election disputes, and said, “The CHP officially applied to the Supreme Election Board for annulment of the referendum. We can say that the discussions on the agenda are actually some artificial debates. But if there is a bad intention in the way of breaking the storms in a spoon of water and making the case open for some events that will disturb the society, we will evaluate it as a deliberate artificial debate.”

Karadağ says that everyone should respect the referendum as a result, “The result of the election has not been accepted by these circles. Perhaps ‘how we can take a different adventure’ account is made of the lost election. Noticeably, there was a process that began in advance of the election and marched in the network of international relations. There was some cooperation, collective work in the political system in Turkiye, against political system, against the Government. We see this as an extension of the collective cooperation that began before the election. Indeed, we see it as a dangerous undertaking. We consider this as a stepping to cause chaos in the society. Everyone has to tolerate this result. In particular, and first of all, the elite must be tolerant of the outcome, which is described as white Turks, with the vast majority preferring 'No' which we respect to their preferences. If democracy is mentioned and fundamental rights and freedoms are mentioned then the people will have generated. Diluting the results and moving it to other dimensions will not benefit anyone.”

“International dimension of this has been seen very clearly”

Karadağ pointed out that CHP's appeal to YSK is an international dimension, said, “There is a campaign initiated in recent years and particularly against President Erdoğan in Turkiye. The international dimension of this has been seen very clearly. The CHP, with the support of the international forces, is also aiming at canceling the election results and thus causing an environment of chaos in the society with the support of the systematic organizational consciousness studies that have been done before. At this point, statements of the OSCE and many European institutions and media are on the same purpose. The CHP is actively taking the support of these circles and without thinking about the very calamity situations that may come to work. The applications can be made, of course, but it would not be useful to move it to an illegal area.”
