Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality mayor Gültan Kışanak is arrested in airport after her spoke to July 15 Coup Research Commission on her returning to Diyarbakır.

After arrested by anti-terror police, it is learned that they have taken to the provincial directorate of security building after went through medical examinations.

In the July 15 Coup Research Commission yesterday, Gültan Kışanak was asked about the meeting in 2015 she made with Zaman Newspaper which is closed now, former editorial director Ekrem Dumanlı that caused a sensation in the media.

Kışanak said those about that meeting, “I was off that day, he phoned to executive assistant and press and asked that he wanted to meet only for 5 minutes. That day I told friends that I can’t go. But after his insist, I thought it is not right to reject a journalist then I accepted to meet him.”

On the other hand, it has seen that police took intense security measures around Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, also closed nearby road to the traffic.
