Death toll reach to 407 in the earthquake hit Iran-Iraq border

Death toll reaches to 407 in Iran and Iraq after the 7.3 magnitudes hit Iraqi Kurdistan.

It is said that 6 thousand people were wounded while the death toll reaches to 400 in Iran after the earthquake hit 32 kilometers southwest of Halabja in Iraqi Kurdistan on Sunday.  

According to the latest information released by Iranian officials, the number of people lost their lives in Iran rose to 400 due to the 7.3 earthquake. 5 thousand 953 people were wounded in the earthquake. The debris removal work is concerned about the increased number of dead bodies.

Iran earthquake that hit the region in Kermanshah, 70 thousand people have left their house.

Mourning declared for 3 days

Most of the houses in Sulaimani's Darbandikhan district were destroyed. The major damage happened in 8 villages in Sulaimani and in the Darbandikhan dam. The electricity was cut off, the phone and the internet line are broken. Residential areas surrounding Darbandikhan dam were evacuated. Kermanshah Province State Governorate declared 3 days morning due to the earthquake.

Death toll: 407

According to statements made by Iranian and Iraqi officials, 400 people lost their lives in Iran and 5,953 people were injured. In Iraq, 7 people lost their lives and 425 people were wounded.
