Erdoğan vows to stand by African countries on their path to development

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan shared a post on his social media account regarding his visits to Africa, which included stops in Angola, Togo and Nigeria.

In his post, Erdoğan said, "Praise be to Allah, we've completed our visits to Angola, Togo, and Nigeria quite fruitfully and we've returned to our country. Thus, we've completed our 50th visit to a total of 30 African countries. We will continue to stand by our African brothers and sisters on their path to development."

Erdoğan also shared an infographic outlining the trade volume with African countries and the number of embassies inaugurated.

According to the infographic, the number of embassies in Africa, which stood at 12 in 2002, climbed up to 43. It was indicated that the number of African embassies in Ankara, which was 10 in 2008, increased to 37, and the trade volume rose to $25.3 billion. The infographic showed that the trade volume with Sub-Saharan Africa reached $10 billion and that 7,000 projects were implemented in 22 countries throughout the continent in collaboration with TIKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency).

It was highlighted that Yunus Emre Institute and Turkish Maarif Foundation also engaged in a variety of initiatives.
