Health Minister resigns after infant deaths in Tunisia

The sudden death of 11 infants in Tunisian Maternity and Children's Disease Hospital caused tension in the country, while Tunisian Health Minister Abdurrauf Sharif resigned.

The sudden death of 11 newborn babies at the birth center of the Tunisian Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, due to viral infections in the blood, causes tension in the country. As a result of the incident, Tunisia Health Minister Abdurrauf Sharif resigned.

Grieving families state that they are complaining about the efforts to normalize the outbreak, which they say is due to negligence, and that this situation is now becoming a wave of anger.

Tunisia's Health Facilities are experiencing the biggest problems of recent years due to lack of facilities, lack of equipment and infrastructure problems.

Hasan Khalifa, the father of one of the deceased babies, said the hospital administration did not provide them any information that would comfort or satisfy them. "'Your baby died because of the drugs that have lost its function' that is what the hospital said to us. I'm sure my child died of a bigger and more dangerous cause."

Arabi Bin Muhammed, the father of another victim, said that the hospital administration did not allow anyone to see their baby who died.

Noting that they named the baby as "the deceased baby", Muhammed said his wife still doesn’t know that the baby has died, waiting and longing for the baby.
