Hundreds of children are infected with HIV causing AIDS in Pakistan

Hundreds of children reportedly are infected with HIV that causes AIDS in Sind province in southern Pakistan.

Hundreds of people were diagnosed with HIV in the Sind province of southern Pakistan. Officials have reported that more than 700 people have been infected with the HIV virus, three-quarters of whom are under 12 years of age.

The use of syringes and scalpels infected with the HIV virus is claimed to have caused the virus to spread. Authorities detained a pediatrician.

In Pakistan, the HIV virus was under control for a long time. However, the virus is spreading rapidly in the country in recent years. At least 20,000 new cases were detected only in 2017.

Pakistan is the second Asian country where HIV is the fastest spread according to the United Nations. According to estimates, at least 150,000 people in Pakistan with a population of 220 million are infected with HIV.

The bad health system in the country worsens the HIV crisis. Many families have no choice but to go to fake doctors.

Health experts say the use of the same syringes to save money and the lack of health personnel in the country leads to HIV crises.
