Law was used as a weapon: President of the Court of Cassation
"Law is used as a weapon," said President of the Turkish Court of Cassation Ismail Rüştü Cirit.
Speaking at the inauguration of the "2017 Yearbook Assessment and Vocational Retraining Program" held by the Chief Public Prosecutor, President of the Court of Cassation İsmail Rüştü Cirit said "Law is being used as a weapon," related to the FETO structure in the judiciary.
Indicating that FETO had infiltrated to the capillaries of the judiciary and some state organs before 2010, Cirit said, "After the referendum in 2010, they became operative by focusing on the judiciary with the superiority of the HSK [Council of Judges and Prosecutors]. Law was used as a weapon. Confiscations made, many people listened without the court decision. The important cases were first decided at certain places belonging to the organization. Afterwards, they were passed to the judicial process and these were made a decision."
