Message from President Erdoğan to the US at the UN Summit

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the leader of FETO lives in the US and exporting terror to 160 countries from there.

Addressing leaders at the United Nations General Assembly, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave messages to the US by criticizing that the FETO leader lives in the US and exporting terror to 160 countries from there.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly held in New York.

"As noted by the General Assembly’s call for this year, our world needs global leadership and joint responsibility more than ever for peaceful, equitable and sustainable societies," President Erdoğan said and added that Turkiye has contributed by substantial efforts in this direction within the United Nations.

"The Mediation for Peace Initiative that we have launched with Finland in 2010 is now supported by Friends of Mediation Group, consisting of 56 members. We have taken serious steps in this direction within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, of which we are currently the term President," the President said.

"The Alliance of Civilizations Initiative we launched with Spain has become a United Nations Initiative with the participation of 146 members. In helping Somalia which is struggling with hunger to get back on its feet, we are currently implementing a development program that I believe will be an example to the entire world."

"To help millions of innocent people in Arakan, miles away from our country, we have mobilized our means and capabilities. We have exerted sincere efforts to resolve the Gulf Crisis. In Iraq, we are encouraging all parties to make efforts for the common future of the country," President Erdoğan stated.

President Erdoğan continued his speech as follows: "Regarding racism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia, we strive to prevent negativities in various parts of the world, particularly in Europe."

Stating that Turkiye has also adopted an active stance in response to the developments taking place in Syria, which has now become a place where the majority of countries in the world export the radical groups residing within their borders, President Erdoğan said: "By means of both our support to the Geneva and Astana Processes and the safe zones, we continue to establish on the ground, we try to make Syria a peaceful country once again.

"Recently, with the Sochi Agreement we signed with Russia, we have prevented the regime’s bloody assaults against the de-escalation area in the Idlib province where 3.5 million civilians live. By preventing a repetition of massacres carried out in Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Daraa, and East Ghouta from taking place in the Idlib province, we believe that Turkiye cleared the way for peace and political solution in Syria.  Our goal is to clear the Syrian territory, all the way from Manbij to the Iraqi border, from terrorists," President Erdoğan said.

Underscoring that if we cannot create a minimum level of peace and prosperity for all, all over the world, no one can live safely within their own borders, President Erdoğan called for more sincere and constructive efforts for solutions in current dispute regions such as Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, as well as potential ones including the Balkans, Caucasus, North Africa, Central Africa, the Gulf and Eastern Mediterranean.

"FETO uses more complex, more covert and more deceptive methods"

Pointing out that all terrorist organizations do not obtain their sole power from their armed actions and that some of them use more complex, more covert and more deceptive methods, President Erdoğan said: "FETO, which attempted a coup d’état on the night of 15th of June 2016, martyring 251 and wounding 2,193 of our citizens, is exactly that sort of terrorist organization. Its leader is in Pennsylvania, U.S., living on a 400-acre-land and exporting terror to 160 countries from there."

"This terrorist organization, hiding behind glossy concepts such as education, welfare, and dialogue, continues its operations as NGOs or businesses. This terrorist organization, growing and developing with this deception for the last 40 years, showed its true face when it felt it had become powerful enough. They initiated consecutive coup attempts, first with their operatives that had infiltrated the police and the judiciary and then with their agents in the armed forces," President Erdoğan noted.

Underscoring that the amount of funds that the FETO terrorist organization receives in 27 US states from the government budget solely by charter schools is $763 million, President Erdoğan said, "This number does not include the incomes of commercial institutions involved in all sorts of money laundering and other structures with secret agendas that appear to be NGOs."

"None of us can remain silent to the use of economic sanctions as weapons"

Pointing out that trade wars have harmed humanity in every period, and that the world is on the brink of, or, in fact, in that period right now, President Erdoğan said: "None of us can remain silent to the arbitrary cancellation of commercial agreements, the spreading prevalence of protectionism and the use of economic sanctions as weapons. The negative effects of these twisted developments will eventually affect all countries. We must all work together to prevent damage to the world trade regime as a result of such unilateral decisions."

"In a period where we need to work to achieve the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, no one wants the world to experience a new economic rupture," President Erdoğan underlined.

"There is no bigger danger than a world order that has lost mercy, conscience, truth, and hope"

President Erdoğan continued his speech as follows: "It is easy to create chaos but difficult to reestablish order. Today, some countries are persistently trying to create chaos. There is no bigger danger than a world order that has lost mercy, conscience, truth, and hope. We are all facing a similar danger right now. Turkiye has always been in favor of both free trade and free movement of persons. Every regression in these two subjects affects us negatively."

"Furthermore, the fact that this approach is brought up with a rhetoric of threat, force and by entirely disregarding the history of bilateral relations, disappoints us even more. We are in favor of solving our problems through conducting a constructive dialogue on equal terms. As in all other fields, we expect a responsible action also in matters of economy," President Erdoğan stated.

"We believe that, together with the countries and the institutions sharing our perspective, we can overcome this political and economic chaos the world is trying to be drawn into. We expect your support in this respect," President Erdoğan said.

President Erdoğan ended his speech as follows: "I wish that the 73rd General Assembly will be successful. On behalf of myself and my country, I salute with respect all countries and peoples represented here, in this common parliament of humanity."
