New military system legalized in Turkey
The proposal for the Recruitment Law, which includes the reduction of military service to 6 months, was accepted at the General Assembly of the TGNA and was enacted.
Regulating the new military system, the proposal for the Law on Recruitment was accepted at the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and became legal.
The 65-item proposal was approved with 335 yes votes.
Accordingly, the military service decreased to 6 months, while about 100 thousand soldiers will benefit from the law and discharge from the military service they carry now.
