The world-famous painter, Pablo Picasso's historical painting was seized in an operation against the sellers of historical artifacts in the Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır, while three suspects were arrested trying to sell the painting.

In a statement by the governor's office on the subject, said three suspects who were on the act to sell the historic picture of Picasso were arrested.

"We have reached the information that 3 suspects residing in Yenişehir district seeking a buyer to sell a historical picture," the statement read.

During the operation in the Central Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır on Thursday, March 7, 2019, the suspects were apprehended as they tried to sell the historical picture.

"A 78x51-size painting with a signed photograph of Picasso in front of it was found in the legal searches on suspects and their workplaces."

The statement said that a nude female and male figures depicted on the paper of papyrus; 'the nude killer' wrote in English at the back of the painting; 'this masterpiece is a Picasso work and presented by us,' also wrote on the back of painting while there is a seal of the National Museum of Iraq on the back side.
