President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in New York City, met with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at the UN Headquarters in the United States.

Erdoğan: We will be with you hand in hand to oppose embargoes

According to the news in IRNA, Erdoğan expressed his regrets due to the attack in Ahvaz, "We are no longer facing terrorism, we are faced with terrorist states."

Erdoğan wants to strengthen the relations between Ankara and Tehran, "We will be with you hand in hand to oppose the embargoes," used expressions. Erdoğan also asked for the two countries for more cooperation on Syria.

Rouhani: We are ready to help solve the issue of Idlib

Rouhani said that Iran would be pleased to see Turkish investors and companies in projects in Iran and said that there is no obstacle for the development of relations between the two countries.

Rouhani, referring to Turkiye's condolences attacks in Ahwaz message, "We always have taken place side by side in difficult times and this event shows us to be more serious about terrorism."

He also pointed to important cooperation between Iran, Russia, and Turkey on the Syrian issue, saying we are quite ready to help solve Syrian problem and especially that of Idlib in line with trilateral cooperation.

The United Nations General Assembly, which is one of the six bodies of the organization and represents all 193 members of it holds annual meetings in late September. Attendance of many heads of state, premiers, and foreign ministers of countries makes the UNGA annual meetings an important venue for the world leaders to address the most important national, regional, and international issues in their speeches.

This year, the UNGA annual session started on Sept 18 and runs up to Sept 25.

The gathering also gives an opportunity to world diplomats to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event.
