SDAM’s report on ‘Madrasahs and Religious Education’

ISTANBUL - The migrated stages of Madrasah, Imam Hatip and Divinity Schools since their establishments till to now, their problems in today and solution offers took places in the report named ‘Madrasahs and Religious Education’ published by Strategic Noti

In the report which is the result of a pickily work, there has been many meets with many people in the environment of divinity school. In the report they mention about the historical process of madrasahs which are the Islamic education center, taught sciences, the problems and solution offers of the madrasahs which are active in this time.

It is noted in the report that ‘school system’ has been put into action after the Westernization of Ottoman and after the close of madrasahs they tried to fill the gap with Imam Hatip High schools and with Divinity schools for religious education.

Madrasahs are activating to carry out on purpose of ‘Raising ideal human’

Madrasahs are the first systematic educational institutions

But Imam hatip schools and divinity schools are opened to raise personnel in religion serves with the request of Turkiye Republic to dominate the religion.”

Solution: Foundation system to be establish in legal ground

“There is a new institutive structure in need that they will get in cooperation with each other will feed each other. The new mentioned structure, need to be build will the necessity center, and taking inspiration from the archaic Islamic civilization, not with the intent to take under control. While going through to this structure, Madrasahs mustn’t lost their ‘civil and autonomous’ identity. The economic problem and inspection mechanism of madrasahs must be solved with foundation system in a legal ground.”
