Bitlis has entered under the influence of heavy snowfall on Tuesday evening. Rainy weather was replaced by snow in Tuesday evening hours.

The sudden snowfall and fog caught drivers untimely and unprepared.

In a short period of time, the snow thickness reached 15 centimeters in the city center, while the snowfall caught drivers untimely. Some drivers left their vehicles in the city center while some others tried to drive in the snow.

The drivers stranded in the intermediate and main arteries tried to chain tires with the help of the surrounding citizens, while ambulances to take patients were stranded and were barely advancing due to vehicles blocking traffic.

Meteorological officials, on the other hand, stating that the snowfall will continue, warned drivers not to drive without tire chains.
