It's over when YSK puts the last point: President Erdoğan

"The issue is over for us when YSK [supreme electoral council] put the last point," said President Erdoğan in relation to the objections to the Istanbul Municipality Mayor elections.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inaugurated MEMUR-SEN’s new service building and made a speech at a conference on challenges and opportunities regarding the future of the work.

"In Turkiye, a new understanding of trade union whose main goal is to defend the rights of laborers and bolster their means and resources has replaced an ideological approach to a trade union," President Erdoğan said.

"MEMUR-SEN, which supports our EU process, defends Al-Quds' rights, lends a helping hand to the needy and sides with the national will instead of the tutelage in critical periods, is an important gain for our country," he added.

Drawing attention to the attempts by certain media outlets of the West to falsely present the Turkish economy as collapsing, President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkiye will strongly continue its march.

"The Financial Times had written this or that! No matter what you write, the situation of my country is clear. They will get accustomed to it. They will accept Turkiye's strength," he said

Pointing out that Turkiye has faced in recent years a multipronged smear campaign which also has an international aspect, President Erdoğan said: "We are cognizant of the fact that the underlying cause of this anti-Turkiye campaign is the principled stance we have displayed on the issues of Syria, Palestine, Yemen and Egypt as well as our sensitivity concerning the rising Islamophobia. Those attacks further escalate as we raise our voice against global injustices."

Addressing the media outlet releasing news reports against Turkiye, President Erdoğan noted: "Are you knowledgeable about Turkiye, which is home to 4 million refugees? I wonder how many refugees live in your country at the moment. Let us see you report that as well!"

Noting that Turkiye successfully completed a marathon of the election on March 31, President Erdoğan stated: "The elections were held on March 31 in an atmosphere of democracy festival in Turkiye, which is a democratic state of law."

"There were, of course, some disputes and differences of opinion. Yet, this situation doesn’t pose an obstacle to our acknowledgment of the fact that our democracy has once again functioned successfully."

"A 4.5 year-long continuous period of action now lies ahead of our country," President Erdoğan underlined.

"As the 82 million citizens, we should make the most of this period. We should leave behind election debates and focus on our true agenda, first and foremost economy and security. It is now time to once again cool the hot iron, shake hands, hug each other and reinforce our unity and solidarity."

"Our target in the upcoming 4.5 year-long periods is to enhance our people’s prosperity as well as to achieve Turkiye’s goals for 2023 by preserving the security-freedom balance and eliminating threats against our country."

President Erdoğan went on to say: "We, the 82 million citizens, should set aside our differences of political opinion and act jointly as the 'Alliance of Turkiye' on issues that concern our country’s survival."

"We should all share the burden for a Turkiye which inspires confidence in its citizens and brothers. Only this way can we resolve the problems of our public servants, workers, farmers, industrialists, and merchants."
