Mustazafs Society Şanlıurfa Branch organized a program to commemorate those martyred in February.

In order to commemorate Muslims martyred in February, martyrdom was talked in the Mustazafs Society Şanlıurfa Branch program.

The program organized in Mehmet Akif İnan Conference Hall took place with an intense participation. At the entrance of the conference room, photos of those who were martyred were exhibited this month.

Mustazafs Society Şanlıurfa Branch Chairman İbrahim Halil Göven, expressed that great sacrifices need to be done in order to reach such sacred level like martyrdom, he said:

“Life is the most precious treasure of man. It is necessary to sacrifice the life that is more valuable than the possessions in the way of Allah. We, who acting ‘we should sacrifice our most valuable people on this path’ principle, have entered in a month that many sacrifices have done in the path of Allah. Many of the leaders of the Islamic Movement and many of those who have left behind have delivered their souls to Allah in this month: Hasan El Benna, Atif from İskilip, Selim Yanderbiyev, Abbas Mosevi, Malcom X, Metin Yüksel, Sheikh Zeki, and the last martyrs Sheikh Omar Abdurrahman, who drinks the martyr sherbet in the American dungeons, are just some of them.”

Then, Researcher-Writer Nezir Tunç spoke about the significance of the day. Tunç, who indicated that the time taken from the hands of Muslims had begun to be taken back, said that in February it was a sign of the mention of people who sacrificed their lives in the name of Islam in many places.

Tunç, which underlines the fact that there is a bridge called "Death" in the Hereafter, said that the inevitable death, the best, must be in the way of Allah. Expressing that the concept of martyrdom is a concept belonging to Islam and Muslims, Tunç stated that this concept was removed from the real meaning.

Tunç continued his speech as follows: "What is martyr? Those whose forehead has not touched to the ground [sacdah] are called martyrs. Those who not know Allah, the Prophet, those who do not know Islam are called martyrs. Those who do not know what they are doing are called martyrs. However, the concept of martyr, is a concept belonging to our belief, Islam, Muslims. The Messenger of Allah explains: 'Whoever worships the Word of Allah to be raised, works and strives on this path and if he is shot on this path, he is a martyr.' Apart from this, we need to think about who is the martyr. If the Messenger of Allah did not call him a martyr, we cannot call him a martyr.” (ILKHA)
