The houses of the Gecik family, whose financial situation is insufficient in Batman, face the danger of collapse. Living in Çamlıca Neighborhood in one-storied mud-brick house on Çamlıbel Street the family with 7 members try to stay alive in the house and fear that their homes will collapse at any moment.

Housewife Havva Gecik, who stated that the house is full with cracks and about to collapse, which they are waiting for the support of the authorities and philanthropists to repair the houses they could not make due to the financial impossibility.

The drama of Gecik family who live in house which is almost ruined, with 5 children and parents is heartbreaking.

Havva said that their house is in danger of collapsing, so often she cannot sleep with fear of demolition, said all her wishes are to live her life in a house where she will not feel anxiety and fear.

“We are afraid that one day we will stuck under the wreckage of this house”

Gecik tells that muddy water flows from the ceiling of the house every time it rains, “You see the condition of the house. Our house is falling. We are living in this room with a population of 7. We have a single room, a living room and a kitchen if we are counting. We cook on the floor. My children get scared that the house will collapse when it is windy outside. That’s why my children are depressed. We afraid that one day we will stuck under wreckage of this house. We are very scared, who is going to save our children? We expect help from charitable people, authorities, especially from the state. We want a house that we can live without fear. A house that my children will not scare. My house is ruined, and every time it rains, muddy water flows from the walls of the house. A large part of my children's clothes and accessories are at the out. But we have only our carpet, and we sit on it.”

“On some days we go to bed without eating dinner”

Gecik said that her husband working as daily-wage and cannot find job most of the time and it is hard to subsist children life with this wage.

Often they say that they are forced to go bed hungry because they cannot find something to eat in the evening, Gecik said, “My husband is uncomfortable and unemployed, often unable to work. We provide our subsistence with the help of our children every 3 months salary. We usually borrow food from shops. On some days my children go to the school with no breakfast. My children have no choice but cry out. We want to live in a beautiful house. We want to build a house in the land where our house is located on now. It is belong to us.
