The last lap of “International Civilizations Cycling Tour” held in Diyarbakır

The last lap of the “International Civilizations Cycling Tour” took place in Diyarbakır which the first tour was in Mardin and the second in Batman.

The last lap of the “International Civilizations Cycling Tour” took place in Diyarbakır where the first lap was in Mardin and the second was in Batman. Diyarbakır Governor Hüseyin Aksoy, Diyarbakır Mayor Cumali Atilla, Diyarbakır Provincial Police Chief Tacettin Aslan, Diyarbakir Provincial National Education Director Hasan Aslan and Turkiye Cycling Federation President Erol Küçükbakırcı attended to the program.

Diyarbakir Governorate and the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality hosted the tour, sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Turkish Cycling Federation and Turkish Airlines as well as some other companies.

Tthe International Bicycle Tour which started in Mardin the previous day, the second lap was held in Batman while the last lap was held in neighboring city Diyarbakır. While the race continued without stopping, some accidents were experienced.

A total of 165 athletes participated in the competition organized in 4 different categories: Great Men - Young Men - Stars Men and Master Men. The 35 athletes participating in the tour are said to have joined from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Serbia. During the tour many TV channels broadcast live.

The race lasting approximately one hour, Kemal Küçükbay with the number 12 form from Kocaeli Brisa Sports in the Great Men category, Serkan Balkan with the number 28 form, 171 Aleksandar Roma share the first three.

In Young Men, Halil İbrahim won the first place from Kocaeli Brisa Sport, Yusuf Zuya second place and Eşref Batuhan won the third place.

Individual Athlete in Master Men Fatih Deniz won the first place, second in Tekirdağ Youth Services by Ramazan Dağlı and third from Çumra Municipality Sport Ramazan Dağlı.

Star Men's Fatih Deniz first, Ramazan Dağlı second and Ali Altuntaş won the third place.

The race caused difficulties in Diyarbakır, while the irregularity in the traffic caused difficulties due to the organizational trouble. (M. Sıddık Bilge, Abdurrahman Tetik – ILKHA)
