President Erdogan pointed treaty of Lausanne as a fiasco in his speech, “What did they do to us in the history? They showed us Sevres in 1920. And they persuaded us for the treaty of Lausanne in 1923. Some people tried to foist us Lausanne like it is a victory. Everything has revealed. Now you see the Aegean right? We gave those islands in Lausanne which your shout will be heard on other side. Those [islands] were belonging to us, still there are our mosques, our prayer places in there. We still talk on what will happen continental shelf in Aegean. We still struggling for this. Because of those who had sat around the table of that treaty. Those who had sat around that table didn’t do well, couldn’t do well. Because of this, we experience distress. If this coup was success, they would come with a coup that we would even be looking for the treaty of Sevres.”

Obviously the 3 month duration won’t be enough

Mentioned to the state of emergency President Erdogan, “There need time for the cleanse of State from the extensions of those terrors. We are in a race with time now. The issue is that deep and that intricate which it is obvious that the 3 month period won’t be enough. That’s why in the meeting of National Security Council it is recommended to the Government to extend the state of emergency for more 3 month. In France, firstly 3 months, plus 3 months and lastly added 6 months, totally there is a year state of emergency. Is there anyone in the world ask France ‘Why did you declare a year state of emergency?’ Some people kibitz to ministers saying ‘One year state of emergency is not right for Turkiye. Don’t extend this 3 months again’. Stay there, be patient. Even maybe 12 months won’t be enough.”

15 July will be official holiday

Lastly those expressions were used by Erdogan, “it is recommended yesterday to the Government in the National Security Council for 15 July to be ‘Democracy and Freedom Memorial Day’ and from now on every 15 July will be the day to commemorate our martyrs and ghazis, that day will be holiday.”
