Director of Religious Affairs Mehmet Görmez answered the questions of TRT News and Sports Publications Department President Yaşar Taşkın Koç. Görmez put an end to the “Holy Birth Week” debate.

Görmez reacts to the claims that Holy Birth Week is a FETO project, said: “It is impossible to accept this. This situation has offended me and all the other presidents of Religious Affairs. Because this news is a defamation and a hoax.”

Noting that the claim of “Holy Birth is a project of FETO” is unacceptable, Görmez said that this can only be explained with an abdication of reason, “This is nothing to do with a structure that did devilish with this nation. There is only evidence, they use only one evidence and that's what the old newspaper columnist in prison now writes, saying this based on a false newspaper report. It is not possible to accept it.”

Görmez remarked that it is not right to see this week as a bid’ah.
