Turkish Airlines: Istanbul is in the US’ ban list

Trump management forbade passengers to take large electronic devices from their mobile phones in flight from the eight countries to the USA. Turkish Airlines [THY] has confirmed that Turkiye is also among the banned countries.

US President Donald Trump is having electronic device ban on the flights this time following a two-time travel ban those returned from jurisdiction.

The ban includes 10 international airports from 8 countries, including Turkiye.

The list of airports to implement the ban is expected to start today as follows: Cairo-Egypt, Amman-Jordan, Kuwait City-Kuwait, Casablanca-Morocco, Doha-Qatar, Riyadh and Jeddah-Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Dubai-United Arab Emirates with the Istanbul-Turkiye.

There were announcements that passengers would not be able to carry DVD players, tablets, laptop computers, photographic machines and electronic gaming devices in airports.

In the statement made by THY related to the subject, “It was decided by related authorities that passengers cannot carry larger electronic devices in the cabin from mobile phones or smart phones, which are valid for our flights to the USA. Electronic goods are allowed to carry under the undercarriage within the scope of application except medical devices.
