Turkiye's Ministry of Energy warns Greece not to resort illegal rules

Turkiye Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources reacted to the Turkish Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha Seismic Research Vessel harassing by the Greek Navy.

The Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources reacted to harassment by the Greek Navy during the seismic survey of the Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha Ship in the Mediterranean.

In a written statement from the ministry, Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha Seismic Research Vessel began to be harassed by the Greek Navy in the seismic research activity initiated today in the Mediterranean shelf.

"Turkiye will continue to defend the rights stemming from the international law until the end"

The harassment effort in question Barbaros Hayreddin Paşa seismic vessel was prevented with maneuvers made by the accompanying Turkish Naval Forces the statement said.

"Trying to prevent the activities carried out by Turkiye in its own exclusive economic zone in accordance with international law is in no way compatible with international law rules."

"Turkiye will continue to defend its rights stemming from the international law until the end," said the Ministry.

"We advice Greece to refrain from any attempts to escalate tension in the region, and not to resort unlawful rules in order to maintain bilateral relations and good neighborly relations."
