War-weary couple's drama heartbreaking

While the suffering life of the couple who escaped from the war in Syria and settled in Turkiye's Batman, the family waiting for a helping hand to be extended to them.

Muhyiddin Kahli, who was detained by the Assad regime in Syria's Damascus and became permanently disabled due to the tortures longed a month in prison, continues his life in Batman.

The family, who stated that they had to escape from their homeland because of atrocity and torture, stated that they came to Batman 5 years ago and have a hard living since then.

Muhyiddin Kahli stated that he was a congenital orthopedic handicap, and said that he became permanently disabled due to the tortures applied by the regime, indicating that he still has to work despite this situation and that he has a lot of difficulties for this reason.

The couple, Muhyiddin Kahli and his wife Gülçün Osman, who had two children, took refuge in Batman and since then they did not receive any news from their two children who were taken into custody by the regime in Syria.

The Syrian family, who told their life struggles to ILKHA, said that they have to stay alive in Batman for 5 years with a little help they get from the government.

"They blow my forehead by torturing with electric"

Muhyiddin Kahli trying to hold a life with his wife by working in a seat-laying workshop with his disabled situation, said, "My two children and I were taken into custody in Syria. I spent a month underground, in various places, in various kinds of torture there. They blew my forehead by torturing with electricity. I am a congenital disabled. They gave electricity to my disabled leg. I was not the disabled but became permanently disabled. I have no other person but my wife. My request from Turkiye's President, to help my children, to make them be released from the prisons of Assad regime in Syria.

'We've done your foot enough'

Kahli told that they could get help a few times in Batman and said, "Here, the authorities were interested in me and they took me to the hospital. They took me to Diyarbakır for treatment. They treated my handicapped foot injured in tortures. Not any other help we did get."

"They say that they will not be able to help because our children are not with us"

Gülçin Osman voicing their victims' lives: "We come from Syria for 5 years; we have 2 children in prison. One of our children is 24 and the other is 26-years-old. When we go for help, they say that they will not be able to give help because our children are not with us. My husband sometimes works and sometimes he cannot work. We struggle to stay alive without own means and we do now know what to do now.
