More than 6,000 protesters arrested following disputed election in Belarus
More than 6,000 people have been arrested and one person has been killed in the protests following President Alexander Lukashenko's reelection.
The state TV has showed detained protesters who were promising to no longer take part in anti-Lukashenka protests.
Women all across Belarus formed human chains of solidarity, chanting "We are for peace!
Internet connectivity and cellular service have been down in the country since Sunday night.
The connectivity blackout, which also includes landline phones, appears to be a government-imposed outage amid widespread protests over presidential election.
Incumbent Alexander Lukashenko has been the head of state of Belarus since 1994, a 26-year tenure that is the longest in the former Soviet Union.
