The number of deaths from coronavirus surpasses 165,600 in the United States

534 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 165,617, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 101,136 deaths, Mexico with 52,006 deaths and the United Kingdom with 46,574 deaths.

5,199,444 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 47,849 new cases in the past 24 hours.

Until now, at least 2,664,701 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.

At least 65,433,251 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.

New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 450,432 confirmed cases, with at least 32,840 deaths.

According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 734,888 people across the world.
