Turkey sends medical supplies to Iraq

Turkey has sent medical supplies to Iraq, Iraqi Foreign Ministry announced in a statement on Tuesday.

"A shipment of medical supplies arrived in Iraq today, donated by the Turkish company, Yeni Kayaturk, owner of the two brands, MaxiMall, and PaulMark in Iraq. The shipment consists of one million pieces of preventive medical materials that include masks, protective suits, surgical and face protection," the Ministry said.

"The Ministry has coordinated the donation process, and the transportation of materials from Ankara to the relevant Iraqi government agencies," it added.

Iraq has so far reported 79,735 coronavirus cases, with 3,250 deaths and 46,998 recoveries.

During the pandemic, Turkey provided medical aid to many countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Spain and Italy, to assist in fighting the coronavirus. This help includes face masks, protective overalls, test kits and sanitizer gels.
