13th Guarantors meeting on Syria kicks off in Nur Sultan

The 13th guarantor meeting on Syria began with the participation of Turkey, Russia, and Iran in Nur Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.

The current situation in the country, particularly in Idlib and the northeast of Syria is setting the agenda for the technical talks.

Turkey's delegation is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Önal.

The main meeting of Syrian that the regime and military opposition delegations will attend will be held on Friday.

Representatives of Jordan, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Red Cross will also attend the meeting as observers.

The agenda of the meeting will include the Idlib de-escalation zone, confidence-building measures between the warring parties, the return of refugees, the humanitarian situation and post-war reconstruction issues.
