5 civilians killed, 12 injured in car bomb blast in northern Syria

5 civilians were killed, 12 others were wounded in a car bomb attack by PKK/YPG members in Ras al-Ayn city of northern Syria, Turkey’s Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

According to the statement, the car bomb went off in a marketplace in the Ras al-Ayn city of Hasaka province, killing 5 civilians and injuring 12 others.

With Operation Peace Spring, the Turkish forces helped by its allies Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters seized the region from the YPG/PKK militia in October 2019.
