500,000 tons of bread is wasted every year in Turkiye

Kerim Kınık, President of Turkish Red Crescent, stated that about 500 thousand tons of loaves of bread are wasted every year in Turkiye.

Drawing attention to the waste of bread, Turkish Red Crescent Chairman Kerem Kınık underlined that each year 2,226,500 bread [500,000 tons] was wasted.

Sharing the data from his official Twitter account on the subject Kınık, said the following statements:

"Every year we're wasting 2,226,500 units [500,000 tons] of bread, which means about 3,000,000,000 Turkish Lira of material damage. With this money, we can make 80 hospitals, 500 schools, or 500 miles of road. Or we can feed 12 million people in the world for a year."
