53,099 Syrians will vote in Turkiye's local election

53 thousand 99 Syrians who are entitled to citizenship of the Republic of Turkiye will be able to vote in the 31 March elections said Turkish interior Minister Süleyman Soylu on Saturday.

Speaking about the preparation of local election that to be held on March 31, Minister Soylu said they have informed 363,555 citizens who have lack of address information.

He continued that 53,099 Syrians, who have entitled Turkish citizenship, will be able to vote in the coming local election that scheduled to be held on March 31, 2019.

Assessing the security of the election, Turkish Interior minister said, "As a result of our risk analysis and analysis of previous election events, 6,680 security personnel are appointed in 11 provinces and 12 districts that have the risk of terror organization to threaten people."
