The 5th round of talks on Syria, held in Kazakhstan's capital city Astana, began with bilateral and trilateral technical talks between the delegations of the participating countries.
Talks are attended by Turkiye, Russia, Iran, the United Nations [UN], and Assad regime and opposition delegations.
Following the first meeting between technical delegations from Turkiye, Russia and Iran, the regime delegation headed by the UN representative of the Assad regime, Bashar Caferi, met with the delegation of Russia and Iran.
Following the consultation meeting organized by the military opposition delegation, the opposition representatives held a technical meeting with the Turkish delegation.
According to the information, the main agenda of the meetings is the determination of the precise border of the de-conflict zones agreed upon in the previous round and the security zones to be established along the borders.
It is expected that the main meeting of all sides will be held tomorrow under the chairmanship of Kazakh Foreign Minister Kayrat Abdrahmanov.
