A 5.2 magnitude earthquake hits southeastern Turkey

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake has hit the Kurtalan district of Turkey’s southeastern Siirt province, the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute announced on Thursday.

The earthquake took placed at around 08:45 TSI, with its epicenter at a latitude of 37.9953 degrees north and a longitude of 41.6971 degrees east, and at a depth of 20.06 km.

The quake was also felt in many other provinces including Batman, Diyarbakır, Mardin, Muş, Bingöl, Şanlıurfa and Bitlis.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage following the earthquake.
