A 5.2 magnitude earthquake jolts central Japan

A Magnitude-5.2 earthquake hit Hotaka, central Honshu, Japan, at around 17:18 on Sunday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

The epicenter of the earthquake was about 15 km (9 miles) west-southwest of Hotaka, Nagano Prefecture.

The quake occurred at a depth of about 10 km (6 miles), and light shaking was felt near the epicenter.

There have been no initial reports of damage or casualties.
