A YPG/PKK member surrenders to security forces in southeastern Turkey

A YPG/PKK member surrendered Thursday to Turkish security forces after being persuaded by the gendarmerie command in the country’s southeastern Mardin province.

The YPG/PKK member, codenamed Hevler, was persuaded and surrendered to security forces without arms or equipment, according to Turkish officials.

The ongoing conflict between Turkey and PKK has resulted in nearly forty thousand deaths since 1984 when PKK waged an insurgency against Turkish State.
