Al-Quds is the common cause of us all: President Erdoğan

President Erdoğan said: "The Al-Quds cause is not just the cause of a handful of Muslims in Palestine. This cause is the common cause and common issue of us all."

Speaking at the 2nd Conference of the Association of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds, President Erdoğan underlined that "The Al-Quds cause is not just the cause of a handful of Muslims in Palestine. Al-Quds is the honor, dignity and holy site of all Muslim world of 1.7 billion people. This cause is the common cause and common issue of us all."

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the 2nd Conference of the Association of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds held with the theme of "Al Quds: the eternal capital of Palestine".

"The Al-Quds cause is not just the cause of a handful of Muslims in Palestine. Al-Quds is the honor, dignity and holy site of all Muslim world of 1.7 billion people. This cause is the common cause and common issue of us all," President Erdoğan said.

"Al-Quds is a red line for Muslims"

Underscoring once again that Al-Quds is a red line for Muslims, President Erdoğan said: "We believe that defending Al-Quds means defending humanity, peace, justice, and liberty. That’s why we have been defending this cause in the strongest way possible."

Noting that zionists have been trying for the last 50 years to erase the Islamic legacy in Al-Quds despite historical facts and international law, President Erdoğan said: "You will not be able to erase it. You will not be able to destroy this historical fact. Some of its administrators may be remiss but you will not be able to destroy the Islamic world of 1.7 billion, you will not be able to wipe out these peoples."

Stating that the invaders are committing a cultural genocide thereby usurping Muslims lands, businesses, residences and even houses of prayer, President Erdoğan added: "You are deceiving yourself if you think you can destroy Al-Quds’ spiritual identity by moving a few embassies and consulates there."

"The United Nations needs to be reformed"

"Comparing the 1967 map of Palestine with the 2018 map of Palestine is enough to see the cultural genocide, taking place in Palestine," President Erdoğan highlighted.

"The most important factor that enables israel to conduct so recklessly its activities of occupation is the support it gets from certain members of the UN Security Council," President Erdoğan underscored, reiterating that the UN needs to be reformed.

“Shelling with bombs the children playing on the beach of Gaza is as serious a crime against humanity

Stating that some European countries remain silent to zionist's occupation policies because of the shame of what happened during the Second World War, President Erdoğan said: "Unfortunately, innocent Palestinians are paying the price for the inhumane massacres conducted against the jews in Europe during the Second World War."

"Today, the Palestinians have to pay for crimes others committed 70 years ago. Today, the Palestinians are subjected to pressures, violence and intimidation policies no less grave than the oppression done to the Jews during WWII."

"To us, it does not matter who the perpetrator is. Both of these are massacres, atrocities, and oppression. Shelling with bombs the children playing on the beach of Gaza is as serious a crime against humanity."

"When the tension escalates in the Islamic world, Western companies' profits rise accordingly"

Underlining that Turkiye opposes oppression no matter where it takes place and regardless of its identity, faith, ethnic or cultural origin, President Erdoğan said: "It is by no means anti-semitism to react to the spoilt acts of israel. No one can stop us from calling a spade a spade."

"When the tension escalates in the Islamic world, Western companies' profits rise accordingly. When the conflicts escalate in the Middle East, Western governments sell more weapons," President Erdoğan noted.

"For a while now, regional conflicts have been sought to be ignited over the Sunni-Shia difference. The winner of such a conflict would never be Muslims. In such a landscape, Western arms and oil companies would be the ones to fill their pockets. Those, who drew our region's map in line with their interests a century ago, are now playing on our differences for the same purpose. None of us must fall for such a plot."

Calling on the Palestinians to end the discourse between them, President Erdoğan said: "It is Israel that rejoices the most due to the tensions between Palestinian groups. Israel even provokes and deepens these discords to be able to easily pursue its policies of occupation and oppression. We hope that our Palestinian brothers and sisters will reinforce their unity and solidarity."
