Arab League to hold urgent meeting over Trump plan

The League of Arab States will convene an urgent meeting on Saturday to discuss "so-called Deal of Century" released by US President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas asked Arab nations to come together against the initiative.

Diab al-Louh, Palestine’s ambassador to Cairo said that Palestine officially requested holding an extraordinary session of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, in the presence of the President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas, to discuss ways to confront the so-called Deal of the Century.

Louh urged Arab countries to stand united in the face of all plans that ignore the Palestinian issue and eliminate a two-state solution.

Arab League Secretary-General Hossam Zaki said the meeting aims to listen to the Palestinian leader's vision and discuss the US peace plan that US President Donald Trump announced Tuesday.
