As coronavirus threat grows in Turkey, Erdoğan urges the elderly not to go outside

In a statement posted on Twitter, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has urged the elderly and anyone who has a chronic disease not to go outside as the death toll from coronavirus has reaches 21, with 947 infected in the country.

He assured the citizens about the capability of Turkish health system to deal with coronavirus outbreak and added: “I hope we will get over these difficult times together. Just follow the rules and guidance and also continue staying at homes.”

Erdoğan also expressed his thanks to health care workers for the job they are doing to keep the country safe.

Underlining that Turkey has taken precautionary measures to help the country deal with the outbreak, he said: “We have all kinds of products available. There is nothing which is exhausted in the markets.”
