Assad and Putin come together

Before the critical summit that Russia, Iran, and Turkiye will come together in Russia's Sochi, Putin met with Bashar al-Assad.

Going to Russia's Sochi, Bashar al-Assad met with Vladimir Putin yesterday. During the interview, it is reported that Putin and Assad get on with that Syria has reached the end of the military operation of the civil war that continues for about 6 years.

After nearly four hours of talks, Putin said that the Astana talks initiated for the political solution have contributed to a deep dialogue with the Syrian opposition.

Sharing with Assad that the main issue in Syria is a peaceful political settlement, Putin said he knew the Astana summit is an important step that allows the establishment and the opposition to dialogue for peace in Syria.

Assad also stated that he needs Russian support to ensure that other countries do not intervene in the dialogue process that will start in Syria. At the same time, Assad added that they are open to dialogue and cooperation with everyone involved in peaceful political reconciliation.

Putin also stated that he will negotiate with the US President Donald Trump, Emir of Qatar and regional leaders in Syria.
