At least 429 death in Indonesian tsunami

Indonesia is trying to wrap up the scars of the tsunami, which killed 420 people in the Sunda Strait on 22 December.

After the tsunami triggered by the volcanic activity in Indonesia's Sunda Strait, the number of deaths rose to 420, while the number of wounded was announced as 1459.

The wounded were transferred to medical centers in the Banten region, where tsunami caused the most damage. Identity studies of the bodies are underway. Nearly 150 people were also reported missing.

Tsunami led to the destruction of 69 hotels and villas with 681 houses. At least 420 vessels and boats have also been damaged by the tsunami.

As a result of the volcanic activity of the volcano Anak Krakatau, located between the country's second-largest and third island Sumatra and Cava, the tsunami destroyed the coastal areas of both sides of the islands.
