In England, the police stopped and handcuffed a bearded Muslim who was trying to catch up the Friday prayer, because he wore long-sleeved dresses in the summer. The attitude of the police towards the bearded Muslim took reaction.
The moment of the incident was recorded by the person who was there at the time by mobile phone. A bearded Muslim whose name not learned seen on the images that the police in the London streets handcuffed him and searched him on the way to Friday prayer.
From the video recording, it is understood that the reason why the Muslims are handcuffed and searched is to wear long-sleeves and over-dresses at summer temperatures.
In the images taken by another person who said that he is also a Muslim, the handcuffed Muslim said, “I was rushing to Jummah Salat [Friday prayer] and, when I was near the Masjid [mosque] all of a sudden the police come and put handcuffs on me,” said the man. “The woman (who stopped me) — the undercover police officer said I was wearing too many clothes… but I was wearing two layers of clothes.”
He was released shortly after. “They took my date of birth, address and name and they let me go,” he added.
A civil woman appear in the images provoke the police against the Muslim saying, “in the summer heat will get dressed like that?”
Documenting Oppression Against Muslims [DOAM] also reacted to the situation by sharing the video on the social media account.
Many Muslims supported DOAM, which launched the hashtag with the title #WearingClothesWhileMuslim on Twitter.
