Blast kills two children in Turkey's Tunceli

Two children lost their lives when explosives detonated in Tunceli, a central-eastern province of Turkey, in the countryside of Ovacık district.

Two children aged four and eight died after reportedly they stepped on an explosive device while it detonated in Çakılyayla hamlet near Ovacık district.

"8-year-old boy Ayaz Güloğlu died at the scene and 4-year-old girl Nupelda Güloğlu was seriously injured when they stepped on an explosive device that was laid by members of the separatist terrorist organization in the hamlet of Çakılyayla in Ovacık district," said Tunceli governor office in a statement.

The statement continued that seriously injured girl was taken from the scene by helicopter - belonging to the Gendarmerie- to Elazığ Euphrates University Hospital, despite all the interventions here, unfortunately, she passed away.
