Meryem Elabid, 85 years old, was found dead in the irrigation canal.
According to information, a woman body was found in the search in a water-trench in Hurriyet Neighborhood on the Syria border after the family notified the gendarmerie for missing of an elderly woman.
The body, who was taken to the Akçakale State Hospital morgue by medical teams, was found to belong to Syrian Meryem Elabid.
It was learned that the elderly woman had psychological disorders.
The investigation is underway related to the incident.
