Bovine animal number rises by 4.2% in Turkey

Bovine animal number increased by 4.2% when compared to December of the previous year, and became 18 million 615 thousand heads, Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, In the group of bovine animals, cattle number increased by 4.2% and became 18 million 426 thousand heads; buffalo number increased by 2.5% and became 189 thousand heads at the end of June, compared to December of the previous year.

Sheep and goat number increased by 13.6% when compared to December of the previous year, and became 55 million 063 thousand heads

In the group of sheep and goat, sheep number increased by 14.6% and became 42 million 713 thousand heads; goat number increased by 10.2% and became 12 million 351 thousand heads at the end of June, compared to December of the previous year.
