Mehmet Emin Alpsoy who is imprisoned with his son Şeyhmus Alpsoy for 17 years because of his Islamic identity, and is currently in number 2 Tekirdag F-type prison, is having a hard time because of the illness that not timely intervention.
Alpsoy’s family wanted from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to take the necessary steps for the aged 70-year-old and elder Mehmet Emin Alpsoy, and to end the victims.
Rabia Alpsoy, wife of Mehmet Emin Alpsoy who spoke to ILKHA, explained that police were raided on their homes in the night of January 2000, said that the police took all their children including their husbands.
Ms. Rabia pointed out that her husband Mehmet Emin Alpsoy caught illness in the first year after he was arrested, said her husband was exiled from prisons to prisons.
Mr. Rabia said that they didn’t give water to her husband for a week in the place where they took him and added, "When we saw him, it was obvious because he was all yellow. My son Şeyhmus said that he saw constant blood in his urine since the day he was taken to Tekirdag. We did not know what to do, he was already hard standing. His hands were shaken."
"Sick and old enough to not meet his own needs"
Alpsoy said, "He can’t meet his own needs, my son Şeyhmus was washing his clothes, he was cooking for him, he was doing everything. Now my son is sick too. So now I do not know what to say. President and Prime Minister please stop this persecution and release these sick child and my husband. When he was detained, my youngest child was going to the first class in primary school and my newly-married son did not see his father properly."
Alpsoy reminded that the President has the right to use pardoning power, "By using this authority for Allah, you will get the people who are sick from the prison, my husband is 70 years old and he cannot meet his own needs anymore.”
Son of Mehmet Emin Alpsoy, Süleyman Alpsoy, said that they have been punishing for many years with his father.
"This is a seriously victimized us," said Alpsoy and added, "Exiled from prison to prison and arbitrary proceedings in the prisons victimized us seriously. Being in jail without having a crime is another suffer.”
Alpsoy, who said that his father's illness caused by his advanced age is getting worse, added, "Not meeting his own needs due to osteolysis and herniated disc and old age distress us. It was my brother Şeyhmus Alpsoy had met his needs before. Now my brother is also heavily ill which effected both badly. I do not understand how the officials not seeing that much trubles."
"Despite all the applications, nobody was interested"
Despite all the applications that they have made, the authorities have been insensitive to the issue, said Alpsoy and added, "Especially the prison administration's irrelevance and insensitivity to the issue has severely damaged us. We know very well that all of this is due to our religious identity."

Alpsoy stated that his father and his brother were not allowed to meet anyone after being expelled to Tekirdag Prison and said that "We go to Tekirdag from Ankara. Despite of the consent of the prosecutor’s office he met with his wife only for 3 minutes. For the sake of Allah is this something can be acceptable?”
Reminding that Ahmet Necdet Sezer was using his pardoning power for left-wing prisoners who were sick in his period, Alpsoy said, "We do not separate the rightist or the leftist. Everyone who is really sick needs to receive this right. We do not want them to forgive us. Right-wing or left-wing, we want to be judged fairly."
Alpsoy, says that his brother is melting in front of his father's eyes, wants this drama to be seen.
"My father and my brother are unfairly lying in prison"
Alpsoy, addressed to the authorities and the President, said, "We do not accept the fact my brother was sentenced only because he is the son of my father which clear in reports. We want a fair trial. We haven’t been in an expectation from the Government so far. We expect from the President to take steps on the regard of this issue.”
