Child abuse in Istanbul: 1 in custody, 6 deported

The perpetrator, accusing of sexual assault against a 5-year-old girl happened in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece, was taken into custody said Turkish Interior Minister on Friday while 6 other non-Turkiye citizens were deported.

Nine people were detained by Turkish police on Thursday in Küçükçekmece, Istanbul, including the perpetrator who sexually abused a 5-year-old girl.

Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu announces Friday that the perpetrator who sexually assaulted the little girl was taken into custody.

The perpetrator, an 18-years-old Pakistani national named M.V. has entered Turkiye illegally 1.5 years ago and was selling bags as mobile in Istanbul.

Six of the nine detainees, who were found to have nothing to do with the incident, were handed over to the Directorate of Migration Administration for deportation while 2 others, whose nationality was not mentioned, were released.

Istanbul police have formed a special team of 50 people to investigate the sexually assault.
