Consumer Confidence Index declines by 13 percent

Consumer Confidence Index decreased by 13.2 percent in September compared to the previous month and became 59.3.

The consumer confidence index calculated from the results of the consumer tendency survey carried out in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye decreased by 13.2 % compared to the previous month. The index became 59.3 in September while it was 68.3 in August.

Financial situation expectation index realized as 76.7The financial situation expectation of household index decreased by 10.4% compared to the previous month and became 76.7 in September. This decrease resulted from the increase in consumers expecting a worse financial situation of the household in the next 12 months period.General economic situation expectation index became 74.6The general economic situation expectation index which was 88.3 in August decreased by 15.5% and became 74.6 in September. This decrease stemmed from the decrease in consumers expecting a better general economic situation in the next 12 months compared to the previous month.Number of people unemployed expectation index became 67.2The number of people unemployed expectation index decreased by 9.3% compared to the previous month and became 67.2 in September. This decrease stemmed from the fall of people expecting a decrease in the number of unemployed persons in the next 12 months.The probability of saving index realized as 18.8The probability of saving index which was 25.3 in August decreased by 25.9% and became 18.8 in September. This decrease resulted from the decline of consumers who expressed the probability of saving for the next 12 months period.
