Women's groups met in Taksim, Istanbul, held a walk for March 8 World Women's day.
The demonstrators who came to Istiklal Street tried to suppress the adhan by whistling at the time of Imam was reading the adhan. Adhan is known as a sign of Islam that is calling believers to worship Allah.
The time of great disrespect of demonstrations against the adhan was recorded by mobile phones while the scandalous images caused major outrage in public.
Social media users said it is unacceptable to try to suppress the sound of adhan by whistling in a Muslim country.
