The interior ministry in Gaza announced that the crossing is closed in both directions for the third day on the part of the Egyptian authorities. It did not give any further details.
More than 27,000 Palestinians in Gaza have registered for travel through the Rafah crossing, which used to work five days a week and allow the travel of 2500 citizens every week.
