Election results in South Kurdistan announced

The winner of the elections in South Kurdistan on 30 September was the KDP with 45 seats.

The Kurdistan Independent High Elections and Referendum Commission approved the results of the general elections held on 30 September.

Election Commission President Hendren Mohammed said that 119,000 votes annulled in 96 centers.

According to official results, the Democratic Party of Kurdistan [KDP] won 686,070 and won 45 seats. Of the 45 MPs, 31 were male and 14 of them are female.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan [PUK] won the second place with 21 seats and 319,912 votes, and the Movement of Change [Goran] won the third place with 12 seats with 186,903 votes. The New Generation Movement received 127,115 votes and won 8 seats.

The votes of the other parties are:

Komel: 109,494 with 7 seats

Reform Coalition: 79,434 won 5 seats

The Coalition of Serdem: 15,581, won 1 seat

Azadi: 8063 votes, 1 seat

Other minority sears are: Turkmen Development Party – 2, Nation List – 1, Turkmen Reform party – 1, Turkmen Front – 1, Rafidain List – 1, Assyrian Syriac Chaldean Popular Council – 1, National Union Coalition – 3, Independent – 1.
