Elections in Iraqi Kurdistan Region postpones

The presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for November 1 in Iraqi Kurdistan Region have been postponed.

Iraqi Kurdistan Region announced on November 1 that it will go to the polls for presidential and parliamentary elections.

The election which KRG President Masoud Barzani was also announced not to be a candidate had deferred previously.

Election commission Chairman Hendrean Muhammad told Reuters that candidate notification date has already expired last week and extended till today, and he would ask the parliament to set a new date for the election.
