Emir of Qatar to pay a visit to Turkey

Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, will pay a visit to Turkey on Thursday to participate the Turkey-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee.

The Committee will be presided by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Qatari emir.

During the meeting, two sides will discuss steps to further improve the bilateral trade ties in the energy, food and defense sectors.

Trade relations between Turkey and Qatar have witnessed rapid developments in recent years.

Qatar has signed agreements with Turkey to export LNG, while several Turkish construction companies have agreements with the Qatari government, many of which are involved in 2022 FIFA World Cup projects.
